Welcome To Natalie's page
This is a story about a very tiny person who made a gigantic impact on lives around her. When my husband and I found our we were going to a baby, we couldn't believe it. I cried tears of happiness for at least three days. Our whole lives changed and we couldn't be happier!
First doctor's appointment
On January 9, 2003, I had my first doctor's appointment. Since I was 14 weeks, I got to hear a strong  heart beat at 150bpm. I cried and knew that our little baby was for there for sure!
The first Ultrasound!
On the 30th of January we saw our baby for the first time at our ultrasound. As I watched our baby on the screen, I thought how silly it was to hope for a girl or boy. I realized that I could care less, I was just happy we had a healthy baby!

Something is wrong
About two hours after our first ultrasound, the doctor called and said they needed to do a level two ultrasound and sent me to a high rish pregnancy center four days later. The doctor came in and examined our baby for about an hour. Then he looked at me and said,"Your baby has multiple severe birth defects. She will not survive the next four weeks." Yes, that's how we found out we were having a girl. They did an amnio and I found out three days later that Natalie had trisomy 18. Because she had no kidneys the doctor told me she would not be born alive. Only two days later, she stopped moving inside my belly. A third ultrasound confirmed her heart had stopped beating. The day after Valentine's day I was induced and got to meet my baby.

An angel is born
When Natalie was born, everyone left the room and let James and I be mommy and daddy. She stayed by our side so peacefully untill I was able to leave the hospital. I knew she was watching over us as we said hello and also goodbye to her body. She was so beautiful, maybe not to everyone, but to us. The following Monday, the 18th of February 2003, we had a beautiful service for her. I will update with pictures of her service as soon as I get them.
